Americans on U.S. Economic Stimulus Plan: Show Us the Money
Overwhelming majority do not believe two-million new jobs have been created
Flemington, NJ, January 26, 2010 – A new media study among 300 viewers of a news clip about the economic stimulus plan put into effect last February revealed that the majority of viewers (63%) reported that they have not personally seen any benefit from the plan’s funding.
The study was conducted during January 25-26 by HCD Research using its MediaCurves.com® website, to obtain viewers’ perceptions of a news clip highlighting how the funding from the economic stimulus plan has been distributed in the past year. To view detailed results go to: www.mediacurves.com.
The overwhelming majority of viewers (80%) reported that they did not believe the claim that the stimulus plan had created two-million new jobs in the United States. In addition, viewers were split on the proposed targeted stimulus plan, with 45% reporting that they were in favor of the new plan and 55% indicating that they were not in favor of the plan.
“Our automated response curves revealed that interest levels among viewers gradually declined as the reporter outlined the differences between phase one and phase two of the stimulus plan,” commented Glenn Kessler, president and CEO, HCD Research.
Among the findings:

Do you support the new targeted stimulus plan which will allocate an additional 154 billion dollars if passed?
While viewing the video, participants indicated their levels of interest by moving their mouse from left to right on a continuum. The responses were recorded in quarter-second intervals and reported in the form of curves. The participants were also asked to respond to post-viewing questions.

RE: Stimulus Plan Spending
A balanced, non-liberal view of the "stimulus bill" would be nice.
RE: Stimulus Plan Spending
You can't spend your way out of a depression!!! Because, at a later date, it will backslide into a worse situation! You have to figure out some scientific methods or using hard muscle power old fashioned work values to bring the economy back to strenght!
RE: Stimulus Plan Spending
Who is going to pay for these large sums of money? The TAX PAYERS will! When digging a deeping hole remember the dirt will bury every one in the hole. No!!!
RE: Stimulus Plan Spending
The stimulus money should go more for small businesses, these would create more jobs than the goverment
RE: Stimulus Plan Spending
I like the stimulus package because it promotes "green" jobs, like building wind farms and solar panels. I hate that 599 Billion is going toward Iraq. Also, I don't like the "european grant" which is quite ridiculous at this point in time.
RE: Stimulus Plan Spending
the president is full of crap- stimuls my butt- is that why all of these businesses came out this week saying they are closing
RE: Stimulus Plan Spending
Sorry but our country is going in the wrong direction: THERE AIN'T NO 'FREE LUNCH"

RE: Stimulus Plan Spending
It is great to see what the government doing with the money
RE: Stimulus Plan Spending
my husband has been out of work for over two years and our health insurance costs over $1300 a month. the only benefit we have seen is that my husband is still collecting unemployment!
RE: Stimulus Plan Spending
we need jobs to buy things to stimulate the economy
RE: Stimulus Plan Spending
Something the commentary omitted was the fact that hundreds of millions, if not billions, were allocated to Congressional districts that don't even exist.
This trillion dollars borrowed from China is being foisted on little kids and the unborn, all to buy votes in the 2010 mid-term elections.
"Stimulus" spending by government is merely a euphemism for the public-sector distorting and then crippling the free-market, or private sector, resulting in millions of lost jobs and retarded economic growth.
It was a mistake when Pres. Bush did it, and it's a mistake for the Obama administration to set up these huge and un-accountable political slush-funds to reward political constituencies that will only leave us all deeper in debt to China and prolong real economic recovery that can only happen from the private sector that produces wealth through greater productivity.

I don't have any faith in our government, they're all crooks.

RE: Stimulus Plan Spending
Obama is a liar and a crook. I hope those of you that voted for "change" are happy. The people have spoken in Massachusetts and will continue to speak across the nation!
RE: Stimulus Plan Spending
I do not agree with most of what obama says
RE: Stimulus Plan Spending
The new allocated stimulus plan should be shared among all of the Americans that have lost their jobs due to no fault of their own, healthcare plans for the indigent, and so forth
RE: Stimulus Plan Spending
The video sort of discussed what the stimulus plan is supposed to do, but didn't really go into detail as to whether it had actually had much success. I haven't seen a great deal of change in the country's economic status, people are still suffering and economically depressed. The biggest problem in America is that most people are too uneducated to have the knowledge of knowing how to retrieve any of the money to assist them anyways.
RE: Stimulus Plan Spending
Obama is setting America on the road to a GREAT depression, never to recover, and he loves it. I can't believe the American people have been so deceived by this guy ... he's not even American. Give me a break.
