Girl Scout Parents Express Negative Views of Wal-Mart after Viewing Video on Cookie Controversy
More than one-third of parents (35%) say they are less likely to shop at Wal-Mart
Flemington, NJ, August 7, 2009 – A new national media study among 307 viewers of a video regarding the recent cookie controversy involving Wal-Mart and the Girl Scouts of America revealed that the majority of Girl Scout parents (58%) have a more negative perception of Wal-Mart after watching the news clip.
The study was conducted by HCD Research using its MediaCurves.com® website on August 6, to obtain viewers’ perceptions of a news clip featuring the recent cookie conflict between Wal-Mart and the Girl Scouts of America.
The study also revealed that an overwhelming majority of Girl Scout parents (96%) are Wal-Mart shoppers, with 54% reporting that they are frequent shoppers and 42% reporting that they are occasional Wal-Mart shoppers. More than one-third of these parents (35%) also reported that they are now less likely to shop at Wal-Mart stores after learning of the Girl Scout cookie controversy.

While viewing the video, participants indicated their levels of agreeability by moving their mouse from left to right on a continuum. The responses were recorded in quarter-second intervals and reported in the form of curves. The participants were also asked to respond to post-viewing questions.

Usei tanto que ele cedeu .aed ficou grande no meu pe9. Passei e1 diante. E que bom que vc gosta do nosso blog.

Corn starch. It doesn't have the chcaeimls that baby powder (even the 100% cornstarch one) does. I bought a salt/pepper shaker and use it with every changing, no diaper rash and it is harmless.Tylenol, as a matter of fact, 2. One for home, and one for the diaper b ag. It is better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.Little Tummys gas drops. Gas hurts.Teething tablets. Kind of like Tylenol, if you need it a 3am you'll be happy you have it. And your daughter will be teething before you know it, time really does fly that fast.

Hi my son Noah is only 3months and 3wks and is starting to get his first btotom tooth but hes getting 2 at the same time ,we have tried most things like the teething rings frozen washers and so on.He is very good at night and sleeps but the day time is the worst time and my gosh THE DRIPPLING. I have been reading about all the other products like the tablets and ibprofuen (which sounds terribly wrong for the child) but i am scared to use any off those things as he is still young but was wondering if those tablets and other medication products were used on a child under the age of 4mths my little boy is a very active baby and trying to crawl and its very hard to give him teething rings and other things as he just keeps dropping them. Please help me. Was also wondering how do you stop a child from putting their whole hand just about down their throat to the point of chocking them selves?

my suggestions is to pick her up, give her big hugs and kiesss,talk to her in a soothing calming voice, and tell her she is a big girl who needs to sleep in her crib. sing to her a lullaby. maybe offer her a small stuffed toy to be her cuddle buddy keep talking and reasuring her. maybe read her book. give her another hug and kiss, lay her in the crib, caress her back, tummy, or top of her head. you may even find gently rubbing the eyelids or temples to be soothing and calming for her. maybe a mobile or a crib to that plays lullabies or nature sounds like a waterfall or birds. do you have a night light or a light with a dimmer control. try giving her advil or ibuprofin (best for pain) for her teething, maybe a frozen teething toy to bite on might help. i hope you find any one these useful, and remember mom, don't get frustrated. if you're frustrated, baby senses it and becomes frustrated herself. if you feel frustration setting in, put baby back in her crib(a safe place), go out of the room and take 5 minutes to calm yourself down. go back in to babies room and start over. good luck. p.s. mom there is 3 big things going on to upset the situation : teething hurts, mom is putting baby to bed when child is used to daddy doing that, and you are trying to break her from being held till she falls asleep. too much all at once. sometimes you just have to give into certain things during a difficult time like now. holding till she falls asleep might be the answer tonight if either one of you is going to get any sleep tonight!!!! best of luck!

Wow thats a bummer for the scouts. It seems like Walmart could market their version of the cookies differently so as to not be so similar. A different look texture and feel... possibly similar flavor, but enough to be different, instead of trying to take over this small niche of the market the scouts are clinging to...

Interesting survey, I feel that Wal Mart brand will not effect the sale of Girl Scout cookies I will always buy girl scout cookies to support the troops and girl scout cookies offers more than 2 varieties of cookies with exceptional taste and is always a great once of year treat. It seems that every story that comes down the pike concerns Wal-Mart. I think the Salvation Army had a beef not long ago, too. I don't think a retail chain has to alter any of its offerings to benefit an organization. Maybe folks will buy Girl Scout cookies just to get at Wal-Mart, or maybe the Girl Scouts need to have a better fundraising plan. The days of successful bake sales appear to be over. I'm just tired of the constant attacks on Wal-Mart.

Mylicon drops, infant Motrin (better than Tylenol), and baby Orajel (you won't need it for a while, but might as well have it ready!). Any rash cream is fine. We like the Target brand genriec ointment.NOTE: It's no longer recommended to use alcohol on your baby's umbilical stump. It's just not necessary. Also, skip the baby powder. If your kid does get a yeast infection, powder will make it unbelievably awful.

I believe people will stilll continue to buy girl scout cookies regardless. Many companies can make similiar cookies but they all have a little difference. These will be good at other times of the year when girl scout cookies are not available

I don't think Walmart should be doing this. They should not be trying to make money off of something that is suppose to be for a good cause. You can talk to the pharmacist but most mieciends available over the counter are meant for a year and over. You will have your first pediatrician appointment at 1 week and no later then 1 month old so you can request a fever reducer prescription at that point if the doctor allows that. Some doctors do not want small babies exposed to fever reducer until after 3 months because of risk of liver and kidney damage if mom or dad give to much. Besides really all you need after they are born are diaper ointment and some alcohol swabs for helping to dry out the umbilical cord. Ask the nurses in the hospital as well and they should have good advice as to what essentials are needed for small babies. Good luck and congrats on baby.

I support the Occupy momtvenes and their key platform of more public campgrounds within the city limits. Do you have any idea how hard it is find an available campground in the summer. You have to book months in advance and are stuck with your date rain or shine. It's bull. I agree with Occupy. There has got to be an alternative. One that city dwellers like myself can live with. Yay urban campgrounds.

The idea of selling Girl Scout Minis by Walmart should had been test marketed further before introducing to the market. For me personally, as these produts are not exactly the same, it would not defer me from purchasing cookies directly from the Girl Scouts. I find this the same as an example, Wendy's markets M&M's and Oreo cookies in their Frosty's, yet this would not prevent me or replace my purchasing M&M's or Oreos alone.

Your intent may be right, and your research methodology may be adequate, but your video clip is wrong. The clip is a misrepresentation of the Walmart cookie question, and I should know. I'm the blogger who noticed the situation and wrote about it originally.

If a business has many choices about which new business & markets to enter, should they choose to begin competing directly with an already established non-profit?
It is important to assess in real time how audiences are responding to items in the media. Yet, it is more important for the media to represent the story accurately and present it in a sensible way that promotes discussion rather than misconstrual and overreaction. I'd be interested to see how the pubic perceives the real issues.

I stop buying Girl Scout Cookies when I found out that the girl make very little from the sale of these cookies. Most of the profit goes make to the national organization and not to fund the girl selling the cookies trips or activities.

Well, it dedpnes on if the recipients/consumers will notice and/or be content with 2 boxes each....or if they will 'notice' that they've been eaten during the 6 weeks that Will is tenting and can't get to them. :)) And it might be a good ice breaker when you meet those future daughters-in-law.
