Americans Say Conflicts in Middle East and Earthquakes in Japan are Receiving Appropriate Media Coverage

Flemington, NJ, March 24, 2011 – A new national media study among 865 Americans revealed that the majority of respondents indicated that recent world events including the conflicts in the Middle East and the earthquakes in Japan are receiving the appropriate media coverage.

The study was conducted by HCD Research and reported on its MediaCurves.com® website during March 18-21, to obtain Americans’ perceptions of recent and past media events, with regard to the amount of media coverage they are receiving.

Among the recent world events, the majority of respondents reported that Steve Jobs’ medical leave of absence (74%), the earthquakes in Japan (73%), the conflicts in the Middle East (71%) and the protests in Wisconsin (67%) are receiving the appropriate media coverage. Conversely, nearly half of respondents (49%) indicated that Sarah Palin’s potential 2012 presidential run was receiving too much coverage, and the majority (80%) indicated that Tiger Woods’ affairs were

News coverage seems to be more if the story is in a nice sunny place. Otherwise the media gives the issues less attention because they don't want to put themselves in an uncomfortable situation,

It is not the quantity of coverage of each of these issues it is the lack of quality and hysterical nature of the coverage that is the real issue. All of these issues are covered with such extreme left wing bias and anti-energy luddite bias as to be useless or worse damaging to the nation and to people's understanding of the issues involved. Communists, Socialists and Marxists have taken over not only our Universities and the Democrat Party but also most of the Media.

I think it depends on what news station you watch. Some news stations are covering these topics more or less than others.

When asked about media coverage concerning the national debt, some media as MSN and CNN don't give the honest story about the national debt.
