Sometimes I lie awake at night, thinking of old questions that once seemed important but aren't any more.

For instance, will the Palin girl actually marry her hunking boyfriend? Or will the Governor have an OW grandchild? Will the kid be welcomed into the Palins' strange church?

What kind of hair dye does Cindy McCain use? Will she give up and turn gray?

Will those people who sent e-mails about "the enemy from within" (code for Obama) now emigrate to some safe haven? Eritrea or Chad or Iceland maybe?

Now that Obama has been elected, can you find anybody who voted for McCain? It's a little like those German soldiers after WW II. None of them fought on the Western Front, only against the Russians.

Where will all that money come from for the new bailouts and grants?

All trivial questions I realize and I can go to sleep again. Maybe for 20 years and be awakened by gnomes playing ninepins.
