Americans Say NFL Commish Should Put the Bite on Vick

Vast Majority Agree Vick Should be Disciplined if Linked to Illegal Dog Fighting

Flemington, NJ, May 24, 2007 – A national study conducted among 1,290 Americans revealed that an overwhelming majority (86%) agree that Atlanta Falcons Quarterback Michael Vick should be disciplined by new NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell if he is linked to illegal dog fighting.

The communications research study was conducted by HCD Research, using its mediacurves.com web site, to obtain Americans views on an interview with two NFL players – Clinton Portis and Chris Samuels – who voiced their support for Vick’s right to be involved in dog fighting activities.  The results of the study, which was conducted during May 23-24, are posted on www.mediacurves.com

While viewing the video of the Portis and Samuels’ interview, participants were asked to indicate their levels of agreement. The responses were recorded in quarter-second intervals and reported in the form of curves.

After viewing the video, half of all respondents (51%) reported that they did not believe that Portis and Samuels should face disciplinary action by the NFL, while 39% indicated that the two players should face disciplinary action for their comments.
