Study Reveals People Who Reported Being Religious Have More Frequent Headaches

Headache Medicine 2
Religious people more likely to take medicine to treat headaches

Flemington, NJ, May 10, 2010 – A new media study among 306 Americans revealed that people who reported being religious experienced more frequent headaches than people who indicated that they were not religious.

The study was conducted from May 6 to7 by HCD Research using its MediaCurves.com® website, to obtain Americans’ perceptions of a video highlighting recent study findings which suggest that withdrawal symptoms such as “rebound” headaches can occur in people who take headache medicines too often. To view detailed results go to: www.mediacurves.com.

Among respondents who reported being religious, 14% indicated that they experienced  headaches at least once a day, while 86% indicated having less frequent headaches. In contrast, among respondents who reported that they were not religious, 2% indicated that they experienced daily headaches, while 98% experienced less frequent headaches. In addition, religious people were more likely to take medicine to treat headaches than non-religious respondents.
