All Parties Increase Favorability for Pat Toomey after Viewing His New Attack Ad

Pat Toomey's Job Ad
Joe Sestak's favorability levels slightly decrease among all parties

Flemington, NJ, October 20, 2010 – A new national study among 401 self-reported Pennsylvania Democrats, Republicans and Independents revealed that all parties indicated that  Pat Toomey was more favorable after they viewed his new ad.

The study was conducted by HCD Research and the Muhlenberg College Institute of Public Opinion (MCIPO) on October 20, to obtain Americans’ perceptions of a new ad by Toomey for Senate, which focuses on the need for more jobs and Joe Sestak’s support for bills that Toomey believes are suppressing the economy.

The ad significantly moved all parties with regard to their opinion of Pat Toomey by increasing favorability by 9% among Democrats, 5% among Republicans, and 10% among Independents. In addition, after viewing the ad, there was an increase in respondents who reported that they were more likely to vote for Pat Toomey increasing by 4% among Democrats, 6% among Republicans and 8% among Independents.

The ad also had a negative effect on Joe Sestak’s favorability among all parties with his favorability decreasing by 4% among Democrats, 1% among Republicans, and 4% among Independents.  However, despite the decrease in favorability levels, respondents’ intentions to vote for Sestak barely moved after viewing the ad.

Sestak was just a tool to get rid of Specter' (Sphincter), but serves no purpose beyond that! Too bad he doesn't understand that, but he's a libtard so he'll keep wasting time and money trying to win a losing battle!!

The only claim from Toomey's ad which I found unbelievable was that the restaurant which he and his brother opened created hundreds of jobs. I could understand maybe 40 at the very most, but his claim was ridiculous. The rest of it was, however, believable.

When loss of jobs and the economy are blamed on the current admnistration and not the lack of regulations on Wall Street and the housing market - when its blamed on much needed healthcare reform - I tune OUT to everything else.

Its hard to believe any candidate, when what they say is forgotten when they are elected. Look at Obama. He lies all the time. Honesty is not the current policy. Its a good thing GOD is in charge, because HE will collect. Right now however I will make the most prayerful guess I can.

Pat Toomey ad was among the worst political ads i have ever seen.First you say how you have passed judgment upon your foe,Sestak, but you lack telling me WHAT you have done yourself for me,and every one else in Pennsylvania. Alternative fuel, algae for vehicles tell me your stance. What are you doing for me,what have you already done for me?

I think that both candidate's ads are misleading at best and bold faced lies at worst. However, I find Sestak's ads more objectionable as he has absolutely no clue as to what the private sector needs to revive the economy. He is all big government.

I am extremely disturbed at the state of politics in our country. Most of the ads and literature put out by candidates is merely bashing the other candidates instead of telling us exactly what they plan on doing in elected. Quite frankly, I find this very childish and not at all effective. In fact, I'm less likely to vote for a candidate that bashes his opponent even if I like him/her.

There is so much disinformation and no accountability for it that I don't pay much attention to allegations made in these political commercials.
