Flemington, NJ, April 8, 2011 – A new national study among 4,147 self-reported Democrats, Republicans and Independents revealed that Americans’ perceptions of the budget impasse remained virtually unchanged with respondents indicating that both parties are to blame after viewing John Boehner’s speech on budget cuts.
The study was conducted during April 6-7 by HCD Research, to obtain Americans’ perceptions of John Boehner after viewing a video of a speech in which he referenced the budget cuts.
Respondents were asked to rate John Boehner on a scale from 1-7 regarding likeability, believability and sincerity, with 1 representing “not at all strong in this attribute” and 7 representing “extremely strong in this attribute.”
Among all parties there was no significant movement regarding John Boehner’s personal attribute ratings after viewing his speech. Furthermore, the majority of respondents believe that both parties are responsible for the lack of agreement on the budget with 46% of Democrats, 48% of Republicans and 59% of Independents reporting that both parties are at fault.
Among the Findings:
Please rate Speaker of the United States House of Representatives John Boehner on the following attributes where 1 represents “Not at all strong” in this attribute and 7 represents “Extremely strong” in this attribute
