Majority of Viewers Say Armed Militia Groups Should be Outlawed in U.S.

Oath Keepers
Support for Second Amendment declines after viewing video on militia group

Flemington, NJ, November 20, 2009 – Results of a new media study among 300 Americans revealed that the majority (53%) reported that armed militia groups should be outlawed in the United States after viewing a news clip featuring a militia group.

The study was conducted by HCD Research using its MediaCurves.com® website on November 19-20, to obtain viewers’ perceptions of a video clip featuring a group called the Oath Keepers. The group is a nonprofit organization that non-violently resists the actions taken by the U.S. Government to overstep constitutional boundaries. To view interest curves and detailed results go to: www.mediacurves.com.

The percentage of viewers that support the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution, which protects the right to keep and bear arms, declined from 80% to 73% after viewing the video. In addition, more than one-third of the viewers (37%) reported that the existence of the Oath Keepers organization causes them to feel less safe.

NUTS? What are you a socialist? A communist? You must be from another country - but I suspect
another PLANET.

Obviously you live in a vaccumn. This country was founded on the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

The second ammendment says ....not infringed (period)

My guess is you've never even been out of your own town / city / state much less out of the country
to see how other people in the world live. What we have here is still worth putting our lives, our fortunes
and our sacred honor on the line for.

Take the red pill - get out of your cocoon and stay away from "main streem media" (ABC, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, Reuters, AP, UPI etc...) Watch Youtube as often as you can and select stories about the government, congress, and those "crazy conspiracy theories".... believe it of not many and I mean MANY of them are more true
than that image you see in your mirror. Want proof- - all you have to do it ask. I will give you more than your tiny brain can handle.

Nuts. My word. Be very careful with such snap judgements. Of course you are entitled to your opinion and free to voice it - - -and I will defend to the death your right to say it.... That IS what it's all about.

THis appears to be an excercise in some sort of propaganda or disinformation spreading. The Oathkeepers are NOT IN ANY WAY an armed militia. What the HECK sort of video did you people SHOW anyhow? You should have taken a poll afterwards about "Now that your BRAIN HAS BEEN WASHED BY US do you feel any smarter?"
What an utter load of BS and a crock as well.

Oh, and for the guy who posted on here about the constitution, Obama has already broken it and is an unconstitutional president. Do you KNOW that he has spend over one MILLION dollars on legal fees so he doesn't have to show his REAL birth certificate? Wouldn't most parents use that million for their kids college fund or something instead? Isnt that kinda weird to you too? Do you KNOW that members of his OWN family say he was NOT born in th US as our constitition says he must be? Do YOU REALIZE WHAT IS GOING ON?? Your country has been stolen by radicals and you're "Worried about people who actually put themselves on the line to support the constitution who look kind of scarey, oooooo" you bunch of sissies shouwl MOVE TO FRANCE! Or grow a pair!

Of course it's propaganda. The thought of service men and women outright stating that they will not support what's increasingly becoming a transparent fascist regime is a real, and credible threat to what people in power might hope to achieve. The only defense they have, is to attempt to demonize the Oath Keepers and their objective, by applying such terms as "extremist", "Anti-Obama", "Anti-government". It's the same sad and tired rhetoric they've fell back on for years. They know, that they can't deny your existence. They know they can't deny that the Oath Keepers promise to uphold the constitution is a legitimate obstacle. In other words, the best they can do is report it and try to play damage control in the public image by misrepresenting the truth. Something they're literal masters at.

To all Oath Keepers, present and future,

This citizen salutes you, and everything you stand for. The American people should rest a little easier knowing that when the s*** hits the fan, there are at least a few of you out there who will stand up for justice rather than "just doing your job" in the name of tyranny.

God bless you all.

Oh please, I'm not an Obama supporter, but I do believe in the truth. You state something about Obama's birth certificate as if it's fact, when really it's just something you, or someone else, read in an email that was probably sent to you and 30 other people, which then you forwarded to everyone in your address book.

there are many places to get the information, but since most people trust Snopes, I'll give you that one. But feel free to contact Hawaii, it is public information.

http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/birthcertificate.asp
http://msgboard.snopes.com/politics/graphics/birth.jpg

And this is extremely easy to find on your own, if you made it through high school and retained any information, you should know how to use microfilm/microfiche. Get to your library and look this up:
http://whatreallyhappened.com/IMAGES/obama-1961-birth-announcement-from-honolulu-advertiser0000.gif

factcheck.org is the website I trust the most, more than any news source, and if you go back and look at the info on this site during past elections, you will see all the presidential and vp candidates, lie just about equally. One may be a little more honest than the other, but a lie is a lie and they are all liars.
Here are the search results for what fact check has to say about the obama birth cert. I haven't looked at what this site says, so who knows, maybe you are right, but I doubt it.

http://factcheck.org/archives/search-results/?cx=006313184908531579811:hm8n5-dxba0NB:1&ie=UTF-8&q=birth+certificate&sa=Search

I'm so tired of you people that spout off things you read in your email as fact, but only when it suits you. It's scary to know all of you people exist in the same physical world that I do. And when you are giving these "facts" of yours, have the balls to use your real name, instead of hiding behind an alias.

Believing that there is a movement to take away the right to bear arms is not unexpected when you read what many of the politicians in Washington say in their speeches - militias have been a part of our history since before we were a Nation.

Everybody has the right to express their opinions, which is what makes our country so great. While I do not agree at all with the "Oath Keepers", I don't think they should be outlawed. This has had no impact on my opinion about the second amendment... we should, without question, have the right to bare arms!

We do not need these types of groupes that is why we have police and the military! I was never in the army but my dad was in for 27 years and I feel very close to the armed forces. Groups likes the ones in the video will cause trouble and costs lives.

The Oath Keepers sound like a new type of cult. Even though I don't agree with the President or Government about every issue, I'm not going to try and "over throw" it or form a group. This group really should be watched carefully. I would be afraid of them. When people are brainwashed, they'll literally do anything.

This is actually a very unfair view of their work. While I agree that extreme groups should not exist-as an American-I would not and will not stand idle while our rights are stripped away-or refuse to ever come to the aid of my country. Having said that-I have no intentions of going out to take over the country, endanger our way of life or to disregard our president as long as they are within the constitution.

This film intentionally combines images of the lunatic fringe with actual Oath Keepers who are soldiers and members of paramilitary organizations like police and fire fighters in order to manipulate the opinions and perceptions of viewers. Those offended by Oath Keepers RENEWING their vows to uphold the constitution of the United States, should take immediate action, contact your representatives and sign petitions to immediately stop ALL United States Soldiers, police and fire-fighters from swearing this oath when they enlist as it is REQUIRED BY THEM ALL!)

Erm... I don't know if any of you here realise this but, the heros who fought and died at the FOUNDING of our country were...erm MILITIA MEN.

How many of you here realise that, in addition to the National Guard, most STATES have their very own VOLUNTEER militias who serve at the pleasure of the GOVERNOR and not the Federal Government in the event an emergency or if the Federal Government needs to be put down because it has become a rabid dog? Can I get as show of hands? 2... maybe 3 of you? Yeah...I was afraid of that. Okay you can put your hands down now.

Here is a link to my State Militia website: http://www.sdf.alabama.gov/default.htm (note the pretty little .gov)

This is what the Southern Poverty Law Center and friends would like to see banned so that government--unopposed--can do as it wills. Those guys (so poorly and clearly edited) who were making vows? Was anyone objecting as they made the Oath to Defend the Constitution from All Enemies Foriegn and Domestic on the day they signed up for the Army, Reserves, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard, ANY paramilitary agency like the Fire Dept., Police Force?

No, I didn't think so. What you are upset about is that they are REAFFIRMING that oath and actually setting out to DEFINE those acts that they may be called upon, or have already been called upon, to carry out that violate their oaths to defend the U.S. constitution.

Did you know that our soldiers, who swore to DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION, were ORDERED to VIOLATE the constitution during the aftermath of hurricane Katrina? YES! They performed unlawful searches and seizures, confiscated the weapons of law abiding citizens and forced them from their homes even though their homes were NOT in a danger zone. This deeply disturbed a large number of our soldiers. Here they are in their OWN words AS IT WAS HAPPENING:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-518277312735074916&hl=en&emb=1

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-taU9d26wT4

THAT dear people, is why these men are doing this. In recent years, our government has begun to overstep its bounds more and more. (Don't rely on my word, get off your arse and look around...just a little and you will see what is happening in the world for yourself.) As observed by our founding fathers, it is the nature of government to grow and subjugate...but it is the duty of CITIZENS to keep government firmly on its leash. Like fire, government is a useful tool, unleashed it is a terrible master!

If you are a member of these guys: http://www.cpusa.org/ or a sister group... Don't bother talking to me--I have read YOUR agenda--Communist Manifesto--and I disagree with it as much as you disagree with my constitutionalist agenda. I know...you hate the Constitution, you think people are too stupid to govern themselves or even take a poop without government oversight, big brother loves you, blah blah blah--point taken! (P.S. The Chinese Government called to say they refilled your prescription of "BLUE pills" so hurry back!)

To the rest of you who may actually think the constitution, America, and the principles of the Founding Fathers like Thomas Jefferson, George Washington are pretty cool then...You guys are the victims of propaganda here. Why don't you research just exactly what the oft quoted The Southern Poverty Law Center is all about? Look at their agenda by looking at their funding, their bias and their laundry list of political actions. It won't take more than an hour of serious exploration and you will get the picture. (I think they like the blue pill too!)

EVERY living human being has an agenda. I have an agenda too. My agenda is to protect MY "Unalienable Rights"--a few of which were listed in the Declaration of Independence. You should read that document--really! It is an AWESOME read! Pretty simple agenda no? You wanna give up your freedoms? Be my guest! Plenty of other political systems in the world to choose from--I'll help you pack! Just leave America alone because it is unique and we freedom loving, personal responsibility taking freaks would like to have just one place on earth to live because we are tired of being eventually imprisoned and / or executed by all the other regimes.

Define YOUR agenda and then try to ferret out the motives of EVERYONE else you listen too--including me. You need to know what YOU believe in your heart INDEPENDENT of everyone else. Only then will you learn to question the motives of all around you and find who you can REALLY trust. DO NOT get your facts from only one source. Don't stop at two either. Fact check everything a half dozen times or more. The truth is hard to find people...that is why it is so prescious!
