Yes the President can, pull this off if we all join in, health care is very important, not just to the poor or middle class or the rich, but to all man kind. So let's stop putting our President down and, try to help him here for once. He did.nt cause this problem when he took office, all this mess fell in his lap. The senator whom called our President a liar, should really be sorry, he made himself look like a fool. Senator Edward Kennedy wanted this to pass, this was his life work he wanted our yes our President to pull this off, health care for all leave no stone unturn. So people let's join the President in getting this health care off the ground, we are wasteing time, for no reason at all think about it he need's your help all of you. Barack Obama is trying really hard here so let's give him a chance he did'nt ask for this mess he got it. Thus he's a great President, Senator Kennedy saw a man not of color but a man, he felt could do the job, that no body else could, yes Senator Kennedy was right because he had a vision, he saw something in our President, he didn't judge him because of the color of his skin. Thus but because of his brain's and wisdom, he saw a real fighter one whom would fight for health care for all, not just a few. Ps good job Mr President keep up the great work, if anyone was listening when Obama, went into this mess of a job he told you that it would not be done over night, or did you all for get his word's. Come on everyone let's stand behind this great man, after all he is our new leader, we will never agree on everything, but let's try. Ps remember when God made us he made his children different because he loved all of us. He didn't judge us based on our skin color or hair he loved us all very much, and he so did love the poor, why because he was a poor man himself. And one day soon we will answer to him, for all of our sin's. So let's come together here for once and help each other with health care. I hope that Vicky or Ted Kennedy JR will step up, so that Senator Kennedy's message will live on for ever. Mr President we are proud of you keep fighting for all.

The survey was fine, but unless they right into the package that there will no panels deciding who gets what health care and that a company cannot opt for a public plan essentially eliminating the current employee plan and options this entire thing is Socialized mediceing which is apparently the directions Liberal Democrats are heading.

I believe the President really believes in his reform however, it will not work for the majority of us. He needs to quit pushing this so hard and take his time to really see all available options from those for and against and go from there. He cannot be just his agenda!!!!!!

I am on medicaid. I blieve the president should review a patients idiamized bill from a hospital stay. I reviewed mine, there was everal things on the list that I don't recongized were performed. I asked for pain medicine and recieved it, I found the cost on my bill and found that 2 extra streangth tylenol cost 12 dollars. I can buy 3 - 50 count jars at walmart with change left over. Whogets the bonuses for this over charge? It aint me or Medicaid, and I was told that I should not complain because Medicaid paid for it. You and me pay this bill with every paycheck we earn. So tell me why shouldn't I or you compain? We are paying 12 dollars for 2 tylenol and more for services we are not even sure we recieved!!!! Who gets to put OUR money into their pocket???

Working people will pay hiehgr taxes for 4 years before the health care reform will be in effect. At that point taxes will probably increase even more to pay for it. There is no government paid/low cost health care insurance. Working people pay for it. With fewer doctors taking Medicaid because of the plans to pay them less, there could be longer and longer waits for service. If you don't buy some kind of health insurance, you will be fined. This will be enforced by the 16,000 new IRS agents provided for in the new law.

More questions as to details (or points) addressed by the President in his speech. While the speech was excellent the "devil will be in the details" and execution of fundamentally good ideas but which in execution can really make the whole program go awry.

I watch the speech and got a better under standing of the plan , it just one part i don't like and that is making everyone have health insurance, like car insurance it would be ok . If the insurance companies would not try to have such high premiums for people because they know you have to have it.

If they wanted to beomce a participating payor in the government plan they would have to agree to the payment formulary outlined by the government. For the companies that chose to go along with the government plan, you'd end up seeing a whole lot more HMO type plans available and the PPO plans would pretty much go away. Those that didn't participate as payors under the government's terms would pass their extra costs on to the consumer purchasing the insurance. If doctors are given an option to participate, they'll refuse to accept the government plans and will jack up their costs to private pay insurance clients (the same as many are doing with Medicaid today). If it's all nationalized and we fall under one payor, just take a look at how Medicaid works today and that's what you'll get. Doctors will also close up shop. Demand will be high and supply of qualified health care professionals will be low.Edit Another thing to consider is that there will be unanticipated levels of enrollment if they leave multiple payors in place and only have the government plan for those whose employers don't offer coverage. Larger businesses will be required to offer insurance, but businesses with few employees won't. Those small businesses that are offering it now will stop. Their employees will then beomce dependent on the government health care system. My mom's a small business owner and pays part of her employee's insurance costs now. I can assure you that if this kicks in she'll drop it. She's having a hard enough time keeping her doors open as it is and that would save her a ton. This is exactly what happened when Hawaii went to their plan to insure all children in the state. People dropped their private insurance and used the state insurance. The program lasted for about 6-7 months before the state couldn't afford it any more.@ bob k If you think the greedy insurance companies are bad about determining what care you will and will not receive, wait until the government decides that for you. Ask any Medicaid patient about how much say they or their doctors have in the care that they receive, and you'll love your greedy insurance company.

Will we survive his first term and still be the same country? Like most people I feel helpless to do anything about it.

You know the difference between my family and yours? As usual, the President is a very compelling speaker. I still do not feel that he is honest in all the aspects of the plan, there is still no plan on how to pay to avoid "unintended consequences" of the plan, which will happen. By taking away profits from the insurance companies, they will surely make it up somewhere (all of them) by raising prices or cutting services. I do not believe it can be funded purely by eliminating waste though that is the only credible funding source.

Even though I am a registered Democrat, before this evening, I had reservations about the scope of the health plan. The President calmed my fears and answered my questions.

Just wanted to let you know this is one of the best survey groups I've found to date. The surveys are quick and concise, and the rewards are always more than generous for the time spent. I'm telling everyone I know how good this site is, and definitely worth the time and effort. Thanks for having me!

I believe that to solve this healthcare concerns, all political senators and congressman must disclose all their bribery contributions from the healthcare industry and that ex-cigna Wendell Potter must ream out any politican a new one, for any politican whom he perceives is sucking on the health industry nipple at the cost of the citizen,be them currently insured or not insured. Get that politicans name spoken whom votes against the interests of the citizen, then as they say, " the sh& t will hit the fan and expose all healthcare, insurance contributions working against the us citizen,i say.

After listening last night I understand a little bit more about what is going to happen for people like my family who do have health insurance, although I am still nervous about the whole idea.

speech sounded like pie in the sky, too little detail and assumes the average American believes the Fed can pay for it based on fixing the waste & corruption in CMS, which it obviously cannnot do or would have done so by now and will be much bigger beuracracy. The feds gave away billions for the bailout and now we are learning that billions have gone out to bonuses to the same folks who caused the mess and its our Tax dollars!

If Health care reform passes as outlined by president will be a good thing but we still have the congress and senate to deal with.

Obama did great at the beginning of his speech. I was turned off when he acted like he was going to spake anybody that is defiant. He was very arrogant and doesn't like anybody that disagrees with him. He shows his feelings way to much which in turn makes him look unwise.

The President was arrogant and devisive regarding input from others outside the Democratic party. He made it clear that he will try to ramrod this through regardless of public opinion.

I think he should cut expenses for Health Care, by making the members of Congress, pay their share of the money needed to pay for the changes they are in favor of. Not putting it on the backs of the ordinary American. Then maybe they will pay more attention to the problems with this plan.

I wish you'd asked about that idiot Joe Wilson. Evidently, his opponent in the next election has raised over $100,000 since he called the President a liar.

I note that the numbers on the 1-7 scale use the mean. Shouldn't this be using the *median*, given that it is ordinal and not interval or ratio data?
