Flemington, NJ, June 4, 2009 – A new national media study among 800 Americans revealed that after watching President Obama’s speech, confidence levels increased slightly among Republicans and moderately among Democrats and Independents regarding a potential peace settlement between the Palestinians and Israelis in the next four years.
The study was conducted today by the MediaCurves.com® website, to obtain Americans’ perceptions of President Barack Obama’s speech this morning in Cairo, Egypt where he addressed the Muslim world.
After watching Obama’s speech, Democrats’ level of confidence increased by 13%, compared to Independents’ which increased by 11% and Republicans which increased by 5%.
The study also revealed that Jewish responders were moderately positive regarding President Obama’s perception after viewing the speech. Nearly one-third of Jewish responders (29%) reported that their impression of Obama was more favorable after watching the speech, 65% indicated that their perception was unchanged and 6% indicated that their perception was less favorable after the speech.
Among the findings:
“Please rate President Barack Obama on the following attributes where 1 represents ‘Not at all strong in this attribute’ and 7 represents ‘Extremely strong in this attribute.’”

While viewing the video clip, participants indicated their levels of agreeability by moving their mouse from left to right on a continuum. The responses were recorded in quarter-second intervals and reported in the form of curves. The participants were also asked to respond to post-viewing questions.
