Democrats Increase their Support for Obama after Viewing Stump Speech

Flemington, NJ, October 3, 2007 – The results of a national focus group among 302 self-reported Democrats revealed that support increased for Senator Barack Obama and decreased for Senator Hillary Clinton after viewing Senator Obama’s speech.

The study was conducted by HCD Research and the Muhlenberg College Institute of Public Opinion (MCIPO) during October 2-3, to obtain Americans’ views on Senator Obama’s speech at DePaul University yesterday.

While viewing segments of the speech, participants indicated their levels of agreement by moving their mouse from left to right on a continuum. The responses were recorded in quarter-second intervals and reported in the form of curves. Participants were asked pre- and post-viewing questions regarding their opinions of the candidates. I think what a candidate has to say in his campaign will sway people's votes. The voters have the opportunity to connect with Obama.

I don't agree with this because one speech should not make that much difference. It takes many months and speeches to make a important decision especially for president.
