Flemington, NJ, March 25, 2011 – A new national media study among 865 Americans revealed that the majority of respondents indicated that recent world events including the conflicts in the Middle East and the earthquakes in Japan are receiving the appropriate media coverage.
The study was conducted by HCD Research and reported on its MediaCurves.com® website during March 18-21, to obtain Americans’ perceptions of recent and past media events, with regard to the amount of media coverage they are receiving.
Among the recent world events, the majority of respondents reported that Steve Jobs’ medical leave of absence (74%), the earthquakes in Japan (73%), the conflicts in the Middle East (71%) and the protests in Wisconsin (67%) are receiving the appropriate media coverage. Conversely, nearly half of respondents (49%) indicated that Sarah Palin’s potential 2012 presidential run was receiving too much coverage, and the majority (80%) indicated that Tiger Woods’ affairs were receiving excessive media coverage.
