I cannot believe that our Government or even some American people would think about allow or consider building a Muslim building where 911 happened. I think that this is very disrespectful. This is what creates prejudice in our country, NO RESPECT FOR OTHERS. People talk about rights, freedom, etc. We have lost what the value of respect and empathy.

This is a sorry way to show tolerance of different relilgious beliefs. It is a slap on the face to those that died on Sept 11 and to their families. What is this world coming to? Do we have to forgive and forget just to prove that we will tolerate a religion that hates America?

I do not believe it is disrespectful for a mosque to be built near the World Trade Center site. It would be very short-sighted to assume that all Muslims share the sentiments of the radical sects. Every religion has fanatics. It is unfair to punish everyone in a group because some of the members committed a heinous act. Maybe we should ban all Catholics from building new churches because of what some of their priests have done.

I enjoyed participating in this survey. It was very interesting, especially the topic of discussion. Here's the thing, often I hear white people say that black people need to move on from blaming all whites for slavery because there are some good white people out there who do not, would not have, and is appalled by the very thought of racism and slavery. Innocent people lost their lives during the slavery era, just as with the WTC attacks, innocent people died. But that should be no reason to hold it against all Muslims. Do you see and understand where I'm going with this? This could be the beginnig of a strong bond against terrorism from both the Muslim and American communities to stand up against terrorism together.

I think that there is absolutely no reason not to build a mosque near ground zero. To include every person who follows Muslim beliefs with the few that caused 9/11 is shameful. The people who caused the 9/11 destruction were being that prejudiced by hurting the American people as a whole, when they may have only been angry at certain Americans. If we want to be the better nation and rise above that hate, we need to be accepting of other cultures. We need to realize that although some people who are Muslim have committed crimes against us, that doesn't mean every Muslim person is evil. Tolerance is the answer.

Other countries don't always do the "correct" thing. It may be "legally" correct to allow the building of the mosque, but common sense says the Muslims chose that site for a reason are counted on Americans to do the right thing. It's all about money - that's why the mosque will be built!

Hopefully, the mosque will be looked at as a symbol of hope, and not perceived as a symbol of hate. True muslim's practice a peaceful religion, not the hateful, twisted version, practiced by radical Islam. However, I fear that it may come under attack by our own "home-grown" hate groups. Let's hope and pray it doesn't.

I do believe in the spirit of tolerance, we should allow them to build the mosque on this site. It was extremists who attacked us and do not represent the Muslim nation. Besides which, it seems that many "good Christians" in America forget that there are very few religions that do not have blood on their hands...including Christians!

We have been "tolerant" to the end that we are in greater danger than before. We have been nice. Doesn't do any good. We need to be strong. To stand up for who we are as a nation which is mostly Christian and almost unaniuy hurting because of terrorism by radical Muslims. Radical Muslims. Radical Muslims. And the moderates are reading the same Koran the extremist' read. They can't clean up their mess and now we will help them to not clean up their mess.

while we are a nation that prides itself on freedom of religion and the rights of all it is nonetheless disturbing to me and a good number of people that there isn't some sensitivity and kindness on the part of our Muslim community toward the victims and survivors of 911. The CONFUSION I felt while reading the excerpt regarding the building of the Mosque near the site of the attack on the United States on September 11, 2001 was because I, for one, can not imagine why anyone, especially those persons who live in our country, would conjure up a reason to rise up in anger or disgust, over this matter. How prejudice can we get? To classify all those who practice religious beliefs, and happen to be of the same belief system as those who partook in this bombing, is utterly ridiculous!! Shame on us!!~ How dare we pass judgment on a collective religious group of people!! For that, I am EMBARRASSED!!

I look at it this way, example: Just because someone in your family is a drug addict, murder, other criminal behavior does not mean you are. I lost my job because someone in my family was a drug addict and I was accused of something I did not do nor have any intentions of doing ever. There are a lot of nice people out there all with different ideas, races, religions. We should not put everyone in one baskets and say they are all bad. More appropriate to build a gallows and have public executions of those complicit with the take-over of this once great land, Amerika. Welcome to the Fourth Reich!

Since I do not believe that mainline Islam is responsible for the attacks, I do not think all Muslims should be ostracized. Many evils have been done in the name of Christianity, too, but I would not want all churches closed down as a result of some radical faction.

This is beyond belief that something like this would even be considered, let alone be approved. This is crossing the line of tolerance. It is like pouring salt into a wound. The mosque should be built far and away.

Not only is it disrespectful to the families, but to all Americans. I am not saying that all Muslims want to kill Americans or Muslim Americans. I do not trust, or feel safe about what we have been told about radical Muslims. I feel that there is an underlying plan in the works for recruiting an plotting for the next big explosion somewhere in the United States. As an American I see news reports from Arab countries with a lot of hate for Americans. Not all Muslims hate Americans, but better safe than sorry. No one should ever kill anyone because they don't believe what they believe. Life is the breath of life, the heart and soul of a person.

/We need to remember what happened on that site, and never forget. This is just another crazy plot to try and make Americans feel as though they are not a Christian nation. We are a Christian nation, and we should be proud to be Christians and American Born citizens of the United States of America.

The Muslims are planning to invade the US from within. They got approval from the New York City Mayor "Michael Bloomberg" and the official New York community to build a large Islamic complex and Mosque over ground zero. This is to worship Muhamed and to insight hatred of Christians and Jews and to organize mass murder from within the US. Muslims are advancing a bit by bit they start small and spread like locusts. They hit and run. They use mosques in Israel to launch rocket attacks against civilians. They will use the Mosque to show their contempt to the victims of 9-11. Islam Holy Book "The Quran" in the Repentance Surah Verse 29 states: "Fight who do not believe in ALLAH AND HIS PROPHET FROM THE PEOPLE OF THE BOOK "CHRISTIANS AND JEWS" UNTIL THEY PAY THE JIZIAH (MONEY TO RANSOM THEMSELVES) WITH WILLING SUBMISSION, AND FEEL THEMSELVES SUBDUED. Muslims are commanded to fight and kill Christians and Jews according to the Quran. Michael Bloomberg is Jewish and he is helping the Muslims to build the mosque because he does not know that HE BEING JEWISH IS THE FIRST TARGET TO THE MUSLIMS WHEN THEY TEACH SURAH TAWBA IN THE MOSQUE THAT HE IS AGREEING TO BUILD. AS I MENTIONED THAT THE SURAT TAWBA COMMANDS THE MUSLIMS TO KILL JEWS AND CHRISTIANS.
So allow them to build the Mosque so that they teach more of them to go ahead and execute mass murder...WAKE UP AMERICANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that Michael Bloomberg is not a stupid person not to know what I just eluded to. Although he belongs to the Jewish faith, I do not think that he is faithful to his faith. I think that he does not care to see the Mosque he is allowing to be built used to plot for attacking Israel, the US and anyone or anything that do not worship the prophet of Islam Mohamed. The Jewish people fool themselves into believing that the Moslems used to treat them well in the Islamic countries when the west mistreated them. This is wishful thinking. MOHAMED THE PROPHET OF ISLAM MASSACRED ALL JEWISH TRIBES (BANOU KURIZA, BANOU ALMOSTALAK and KHEIBR JEWISH TRIBES) IN MEDINA. AFTER MASSACRING ALL THE MEN, HE TOOK ALL THE JWISH WOMEN AND GAVE THEM AS SEX SLAVES TO HIS HORNY MEN. HE SELECTED THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN FOR HIMSELF NAMED SAFIA. HE TOOK SAFIA AFTER KILLING HER HUSBAND AND FATHER INFRONT OF HER OWN EYESAND HAD SEX WITH HER (RAPED HER) TO HUMULATE HER. SO, IN THE CORDOBA MOSQUE, IF THE MUSLIM WORSHIPERS WANT TO RESTORE THE GLORIOUS HISTORY OF MOHAMED, THE MUSLIMS WILL GO IN NEW YORK CITY KILLING ALL THE JEWISH MEN AND RAPING ALL THE JEWISH WOMEN. IS THIS WHAT BLLOMBERG WANTS. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU, WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS???????????????????????????

Bloomberg should be taught the facts about Islam and its unwavering hostility to all non Muslims and specifically Jews. I think that Bloomberg is doing a great harm to both Jewish and Christians, and mostly to the Jewish people. Why, because Israel is the only Jewish state, and ALL ISLAMIC COUNTRIES WOULD LOVE to SEE IT WITH ALL ITS JEWISH INHABITANTS COMPLETELY AND FOREVER WIPPED OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH. THIS IS NOT DUE TO ISLAMIC FANATICS, THIS IS THE CORE OF ISLAMIC TEACHING BY THE QURAN. Bloomberg wants to allow the MUSLIMS to build a mosque on top of 9-11 ground zero. The Muslim Palestinians were rejoicing in the streets thinking that the majority of the inhabitants of the twin towers were their ONLY ENEMY (THE JEWS). What are the Muslims going to teach the attendants of the Mosque other than the Quran, and the Hadith (teachings and life of Mohamed, Islam's Founder and Prophet). The Quran said to kill all Jews and Christians until they are subdued. It also said that Jews and Christians are Monkeys and Pigs. Is this what Bloomberg wants to hear while visiting the Cordoba Mosque? Someone has to stand against this man and stop him from doing us the greatest damage in recent history.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof"

Do you people really want to honor those who died in this attack by destroying the values this country was founded on?
