Viewers Say Their Perceptions of Tiger Will Not Change if He Enters Sex Rehab

Tiger Woods Rehab
Viewers split on whether Woods should go to rehab for sex addiction

Flemington, NJ, January 15, 2010 – A new media study among 301 Americans revealed that the majority of respondents (73%) reported that their perceptions of Tiger Woods would not change if he seeks help for his reported sex addiction.

The study was conducted during January 13-14 by HCD Research using its MediaCurves.com® website, to obtain viewers’ perceptions of a news clip which alleges that Tiger Woods had checked into a rehabilitation facility for treatment of sex addiction. To view detailed results go to: www.mediacurves.com.

After viewing the video, respondents were split as to whether Woods should seek treatment for sex addiction with 51% stating that he should seek treatment and 49% indicating that he should not seek treatment. In addition, approximately one-third of viewers (35%) reported that they do not think sex addiction is a real disease.

“Our automated response curves revealed that viewers’ believability levels diminished when the reporter states ‘But if you are really a sex addict, you are powerless over your behavior. So how can we blame somebody for something that they are powerless over?’” commented Glenn Kessler, president and CEO, HCD Research.

I don't know who that bimbo was but I do not for once believe he has an addiction. A problem, yes. He should seek guidance from a Christian source. Is that a CNN reporter? They pay her for that kind of nonsense!

I think he's a coward and a cheat. He's a really sad filthy person with very little morality and he appears to think he's a golden boy. I have to say no one else seems to share his opinion.

He and his wife just need marriage therapy. There is something else wrong. I don't think he is a sex addict.

I don't believe that Tiger Woods can be rehabilitated - no matter what clinic.

Sometimes it is best to stay out of other peoples lives and let them be who they are without all the publisity

A very interesting subject that should be discussed more. It is a subject that has been kept hidden or just stated that a man likes the ladies, etc. etc. But it is an illness.

Tiger Woods must take responsibility for his addiction. While most sex addictions are the result of trauma or abuse, sometimes a person can act out as the result of feeling invincible or powerful. That wasn't mentioned in the clip and may be an explanation of Tiger Woods' behavior as well.

Some of the questions were hard to answer ... I don't know enough about Tiger's sexual tendencies to know if he should go to a sex rehab center. The story is somewhat believable given the news stories last month, but this could also be a convenient way of avoiding responsibility because he has a disease. I just don't know enough to make that call. He's a great athlete, but it does affect my perception of the products/services he endorses.... particularly those with a "family" theme.

Interesting - I'd just like to say that Tiger Woods either has a sex addiction OR he's using his status as a celebrity to take advantage of women.

Tiger Woods is a cheater and is looking for an easy out and excuse for his bad behavior. He needs to man up and keep his pants zipped. If he loses it all, it's his own damn fault. I think he went looney after his dad died and he saw this kind of behavior with his own parents. No role models there, to say the least.

VERY interesting film clip! I think Tiger Woods is a jerk for the way he has treated his wife & kids but probably does have an addiction. Thanks.

I think he (Tiger Woods) should go to the clinic, in the same way people buy flowers to say I'm sorry I was bad and you caught me... NOT because it's real or he needs it personally. It's just for show.
