Men More Likely than Women to Send Out Sexually Provocative Holiday Greeting Cards

Majority of viewers don't think "Sexy Santaland" photo service will improve mall business

Flemington, NJ, December 7, 2009 – A new media study among 305 viewers of a news clip about a Texas mall that is featuring the “Sexy Santaland” holiday card photo service revealed that men (29%) were more likely to consider sending out these sexually provocative greeting cards than women (23%) after viewing the video.

The study was conducted by HCD Research using its MediaCurves.com® website on December 4-7 to obtain viewers’ perceptions of a CNN news clip about the Sexy Santaland service, which is supposed to attract more adult customers to a mall in Addison, Texas. Also, only 21% of responders said that they would be more likely to send out sexually provocative holiday greeting cards if they could send them online as E-cards.

i think it is a great idea.Like tv if you dont want your kids to see it turn it off!!! you dont have to take your kids inside this type of store & to just walk by it with kids i do not believe it is harmful. Look @ all the parents that take their children into spencers gifts & they have some sexually explicit stuff & drug related stuff & we all still go in there

I suppose there is a market for this type of holiday greeting but, I don't think Christmas is the right season. Maybe Valentines Day or something similar would be a better fit.

I do not think this is in the spirit of the holidays. It is not terrible either. A female friend sent me a picture of a naked Santa Claus with a large yellow bow about his penis. I did not think we had that kind of relationship. I thought that was totally inappropriate for the holidays.. I showed the picture to her and she apologized. We are still friends.

I think it would be likely to drive people away from the mall in question. The woman who said "ick" sums up many people's response, and why risk offense when there is no real need? The fact the mall management is desperate is a personal failing, not the basis of a business decision which could negatively effect the businesses within the mall. Finally, my children go with me to the store at 11 pm; assuming no children will be up and out after 6 p.m. is a ludicrous and cynical feint at the appearance of propriety.

This must be a west coast idea - this is wacked! Hasnt Christ suffered enought, remember its CHRISTmas - Perhaps we can have a spot in the mall parking lots where they can burn the cross and people can stand in front of it and have there picture taken -

I could see the sexy santa greeting cards being popular with singles and college age demographic especially. I know of some friends that would appreciate the Peppermint Patties. I generally send humorous cards any way (shoebox greeting cards).

I've seen more adult-themed, holiday card sold in regular stores than what was featured here. They'd probably do more business if they also rent sexy holiday costumes for customers to were in the pics. It could make a very funny card.

I would feel uncomfortable giving a card like that to any one but my husband, or close girl friends as a gag. I would not feel comfortable doing it in a mall setting where there would be families waking by.

Did you guys see the charts that match up to the video? Watch the blue chart for how interested the men are. It goes up when the hot girls are on but then when the other people start talking the men start losing interest again. So I think the message here is that hot girls = men's attention.
