Flemington, NJ, September 24, 2009 – A new media study among 267 Americans revealed that a vast majority of Americans (87%) reported that they currently use a social networking site. Facebook ranks at the top of the list, with 74% of respondents indicating that they are currently signed up for the site.
The study was conducted by HCD Research using its MediaCurves.com® website during September 18-24, to obtain Americans’ usage of various social media sites. To view detailed results go to: www.mediacurves.com.
Less than half of Americans (42%) indicated that they use MySpace, compared to one-third (34%) who reported that they use Twitter and 15% who reported using LinkedIn. More than half of Facebook users (52%) reported using the Facebook “fan” application to receive updates and news on various companies and brands.
