Americans Say Jackson's Death is Receiving Too Much Media Coverage

More than one-third (39%) believe Farrah Fawcett's death is not receiving enough coverage

Flemington, NJ, July 2, 2009 – A new national media study among 1,850 Americans revealed that the majority of respondents (63%) believe that Michael Jackson’s death is receiving too much media coverage in comparison to the coverage of Farrah Fawcett’s death.

The study was conducted by HCD Research using its MediaCurves.com® website on July 1, to obtain Americans’ perceptions of recent celebrity deaths, with regard to the amount of media coverage they are receiving.

While the majority of respondents (63%) reported that Michael Jackson’s death is receiving too much media coverage, an even larger majority (80%) reported that they are engaged in the topic when they are exposed to it by the media. However, a slightly higher percentage of respondents (84%) indicated that they are engaged with the topic of Fawcett’s death when they are exposed to it by the media.

Among the study findings:

I believe that there is way to much media on m jackson than fawcett.I think that they are taking to much of the media and are going way to far.He might be realy good and has a very populor person, but they should just let him rest in peace.I think that they should also focuse more on fawcett becuase she was a veyr graet mocie star and was also populure in her time.I will be right up front i like fawcett way more than jackson,I realy do not like him and that is just my oppionion.I will always remember fawcett becuase she was a very good actor and also very populure. They shuold let jackson be and stop having so much media attention, yes he was good but enuogh is enuouhg and let it be.Well that is what i think of it all.

i am actually tired about hearing about both of them. they were really good entertainer but they were also people first! i think it's just an overkill. i'm sorry they are gone but let them and their families go on in peace.
