Docs Say Government Agencies are Main Source of Information Regarding H1N1 Swine Flu

Physicians also rely on the media as key source for information regarding H1N1
Flemington, NJ, May 11, 2009 – A new national study conducted among 1,477 physicians revealed that the majority of physicians (81%) rely on government communications as their top source for obtaining information on the H1N1 swine flu.
This study was conducted by HCD Research and the Muhlenberg College Institute of Public Opinion (MCIPO) on May 6, to obtain physicians’ perceptions of the H1N1 virus, and learn about what sources they are using to obtain information on the virus. We will be conducting a weekly study on the H1N1 virus, which will monitor changes in regard to how doctors are receiving information on H1N1 swine flu. To view detailed results go to: www.hcdi.net or www.mediacurves.com.

A majority of physicians (75%) also reported that the media (print, broadcast and internet) was a key source of information regarding the H1N1 swine flu.
