Flemington, NJ, January 9, 2009 – A new national study among 244 Americans revealed that 76% of respondents reported that man seeking monetary compensation from his ex-wife for his donated kidney should not receive compensation after viewing a video news clip.
The study was conducted by HCD Research on January 8, to obtain viewers’ perceptions of a video news clip featuring a man who is seeking $1.5 million in return for donating his kidney to his ex-wife who allegedly had an affair while they were married.
When asked to imagine a hypothetical situation in which they had donated their kidney to a spouse and later found out that he/she was having an affair and filed for divorce; 71% of respondents reported that they would not want compensation for their donated organ.
Of the 29% of respondents who indicated that they would want compensation from their ex-spouse in return for their organ donation, most said the desired amount would be $1.5 million or higher.
Among the findings:
“Do you think that the man featured in this video should receive any compensation for donating his kidney to his soon-to-be ex-wife?”

While viewing the video clip, participants indicated their levels of agreement by moving their mouse from left to right on a continuum. The responses were recorded in quarter-second intervals and reported in the form of curves. The participants were also asked post-viewing questions.

The guy really doesn't want the kidney back nor the money. He feels cheated and diminished. His wife (a babe to some) ran into the arms of another, better looking guy. She told him, if effect, that he was a boob to give up a vital organ for her and then she had someone else walk into her saved body.
If I were a shrink, I would look for some other way for the doctor to repair his ego without making a public statement that diminishes him even more. The cheated husband has more to give than his anger and helpless rage. Let the babe dance away with someone else.
he is divorced he wants it back. No way ! She should absolutely not have to pay him for this. Get a life.
