After Viewing Surgeon General Message, Parents More Likely to Have Children Vaccinated Against H1N1

H1N1 Vaccine
Fear of long-term effects main reason for people not receiving H1N1 vaccine

Flemington, NJ, October 23, 2009 – Results from a new media study among 300 Americans revealed that parents with children under the age of 18 are more likely to have them vaccinated against the H1N1 virus after viewing a message from the assistant surgeon general.

The study was conducted by HCD Research using its MediaCurves.com® website during October 21-22 to obtain viewers’ perceptions of a news clip featuring a message from the Assistant Surgeon General, Anne Schuchat, in which she discussed the seasonal flu vaccine and the H1N1 vaccine.

Among the parents who reported that they did not approve of their children receiving the H1N1 vaccine prior to viewing the message, 21% indicated that they approved of their children receiving vaccine after viewing the message from the assistant surgeon General.

The majority of respondents (70%) reported that they are confident that the H1N1 vaccine is successful in preventing the H1N1 flu. A slightly higher percentage of respondents (77%) are confident that the seasonal flu vaccine is successful in its preventative measures.

Among the findings:

I think it's a 50/50 chance, but I'm not willing to gamble on which half I'll be or my child,so I plan to get it as soon as possible.

I think this vaccine was rushed to be made available and I don't feel there is enough information on long term effects to feel comfortable with my children receiving it.

In response to the question of why I may not receive vaccine... I don't think I am in the risk age group???? My son will likely receive it if my pediatrician agrees etc. I am uneasy with the vaccine being so new.

lentinan available in over the counter shiitake reishi and maitake mushroom extracts are a viral excretion protection factor which might be of value in everyday prevention against viral entities reaching endothelial cells and reproducing in the body

I'm tired of hearing the uneducated idiots saying "The shot will give you the flu", "The h1n1 vaccine is obama's plot to kill white america" and utter crap about road blocks and forced vaccinations. Let these idiots and their offspring go the way of the dodo. If H1N1 wipes them out, the world will be a better place.

The video was informative, but I think that a longer clip including more information would be more effective in completely convincing the audience of the vaccine's necessity and safeness.

Vaccine doesn't PREVENT the flu, as I understand it -- it makes it less severe. I'm older and diabetic but it was my understanding from my doctor that somehow I'm less at risk that children so I shouldn't have one -- since the flu doesn't appear to be fatal, fine. I really don't care. I *do* object A LOT to sending 10% of American supply overseas to who-knows-who over there, though. Let not-Americans develop, manufacture and distribute their own, especially since there's not enough to go around here at home.

I suspect that the gorneemvnt puts microchips in the flu vaccine so that they can track our every move. I'll have no part of it! My friends say I'm just squeemish about needles. True, but that doesn't mean my microchip theory is wrong.superhappyjensuperhappyjen.blogspot.com
