Flemington, NJ, October 7, 2009 – A new media study among 305 viewers of a news clip which featured a new AIDS vaccine revealed that the majority of younger Americans (67% of 18-24-year-olds and 57% of 25-34-year-olds) indicated that they would be likely to get the AIDS vaccine if it became available in the U.S.
The study was conducted by HCD Research using its MediaCurves.com® website on October 6, to obtain viewers’ perceptions of a news clip featuring a new AIDS vaccine that is currently in clinical research trials in Thailand.
The study also revealed that 65% of respondents are confident that the AIDS vaccine will be implemented worldwide. A clear majority of respondents (76%) reported that the vaccine would help in the prevention of HIV and AIDS, and reduce occurrences worldwide.

While viewing the video, participants indicated their levels of interest by moving their mouse from left to right on a continuum. The responses were recorded in quarter-second intervals and reported in the form of curves. The participants were also asked to respond to post-viewing questions.
