Flemington, NJ, October 2, 2009 – A new media study among 402 Americans revealed that nearly one-third of Midwesterners indicated that they live an unhealthy lifestyle, and the majority (64%) are classified as overweight based on the U.S. Government standard.
The study was conducted by HCD Research using its MediaCurves.com® website during September 28-30, to obtain consumers’ perceptions of their lifestyle with regard to personal health (diet, nutrition, physical activity, etc.).
The study revealed that 25% of overweight Midwesterners do not perceive themselves as being overweight and believe they belong in a lower weight category. The study also revealed that American women are significantly more overweight than American men.
