Flemington, NJ, July 7, 2009 – A new national media study among 675 Americans revealed that respondents ranked The Beatles, Michael Jackson and Frank Sinatra as the top three most significant musical performers from various genres and decades.

The study was conducted by HCD Research using its MediaCurves.com® website on July 6, to obtain information on how Americans rank various musical performers and groups on their significance.

Respondents were asked to choose from a list of renowned musical performers from various genres and decades.

Among the study findings:

Respondents were asked to rank the following musical artists and groups by how significant they find them to be in order from 1-10, with 1 representing the most significant artist and 10 representing the least significant artist or group.

The chart below lists the average ranking for each performer or group.
