American Idol Viewers Agree: Megan Joy's Elimination Was Long Overdue


Idol watchers say Kris Allen and Danny Gokey are the front-runners

Flemington, NJ, April 2, 2009 – A new study conducted among American Idol viewers revealed that Megan Joy’s elimination was long overdue. For the past two weeks, viewers overwhelmingly reported that Joy should have been voted off the show. 

The study was conducted by HCD Research on April 1, to obtain American Idol viewers’ predictions and opinions of which contestants should have been voted off last night’s results show. HCD Research is conducting a weekly study during American Idol Season 8 to determine which contestants the viewers think should be voted off each week.  The study results are compared to the actual results of the show each week.

Viewers were asked to choose the three contestants from this week’s show that they thought should be voted off. The contestants with the highest percentages to be voted off included, Megan Joy (36%), Anoop Desai (24%) and Lil Rounds (7%).
