Democrats and Independents Support Obama's Decision on McChrystal, Republicans Split


Flemington, NJ, June 25, 2010 – A new national study among 1,411 Americans revealed that a clear majority of Democrats and Independents agreed with President Obama’s decision to fire General Stanley McChrystal, while Republicans indicated that they were spilt on the decision.

The study was conducted during June 24-25 by HCD Research using its MediaCurves.com® website, to obtain viewers’ perceptions of President Obama’s decision to fire General Stanley McChrystal. To view detailed results go to: www.mediacurves.com.

The majority of Democrats (85%) and Independents (64%) reported that President Obama did the right thing in firing General McChrystal, while Republicans were spilt with 55% reporting that he “did not” do the right thing and 45% indicating that he did the right thing in firing McChrystal.

Obama and his Team want to run the whole show. What about the Gulf coast oil spill, the economy, immagration etc? Its time to pull our troops out of Afghanistan and Iraq..

Don't fire someone if they said the wrong thing. I think he had the right grasp on Afghanistan.

Under these circumstances President Obama should not have fired the General. If we were not at the height of a war, then yes I think it would be approriate to fire the general.

I have to say that I am thoroughly enjoying you're very thought provolking surveys! On the topic at hand though, while I respect Barrack Obama's decision when it comes to how he handled the McChrystal situation and completely inderstand why he came to that decsion, I feel the same way about him regardless.
