While viewing the video, participants indicated their levels of agreeability by moving their mouse from left to right on a continuum. The responses were recorded in quarter-second intervals and reported in the form of curves. The participants were also asked to respond to post-viewing questions.

1) God may or may not have made hets to fit together (could've just been a series of evolutionary accidents that had a certain benefit, you know) but how do you know that that same god didn't also create gay people for reasons you can't fathom?
2) Whether it bothers your religious sensibilities or not, your religion is just one of many in the U.S. and not all of them think alike on this subject and, besides, where civil marriage is concerned, what anyone's faith has to say about it should have no bearing as long as the government is not forcing churches to marry people they don't want to marry, which if the 200+ years of our nation's history coupled with the religious freedom portion of the First Amendment proves instructive to our future lawmakers and judges -- and there's no reason to think that they won't if the religious right can just stop trying to impose a theocracy, that is -- that isn't going to happen and ALL of our people should be granted equal access to the law, similar situation accommodated as the law requires.
Why do so many adherents to these religions think it's okay to push them on the rest of us?!? Why can't they just live and let live in peace?!?
If I were you, I'd worry more about those for whom becoming at least titular parents is as easy as being too stupid or too immature to not get pregnant.
I join your daughter in hoping that you will change your mind.
In other words, you don't know your history well enough to comment on this aspect of it intelligently and you're thus just blowing smoke!!
In fact, the studies show that gay parents do just as good a job of raising their children and their children do not turn out confused or in any other way impaired by the experience -- with the only difference being that the children raised by gay parents are BETTER EQUIPPED to handle worklife in a modern, diverse workforce than the kids hets raise.
We're smarter than you, we're more adaptable than you, we're more creative and better problem solvers than you, and our culture is more advanced than yours in such things as taking care of each other in times of need. Quit imagining a superiority for yourselves that just isn't there.
Personally, I am not a Christian. But if I were to convert to Christianity, I would follow the philosophy of Jesus Christ whose main tenet was to love unconditionally. He sounds like an immensely kind person and I think if he met a gay person, he would try to understand them before he judged them, the same way he cared for prostitutes, another misunderstood group of people.
It's established fact already. Has been for at least as long as recorded human history and probably way before that.
Don't you think after all these millions of years you could've found a way to cope with this simple little reality?
Do you have similar problems with other well-established facts like, say, gravity?
Are you perhaps currently off your anti-psychotic medication?
You can read the voices of our children through their organization, COLAGE (which they started on their own, by the way.)
We're supposed to be all "self-controlled" into lonely celibacy, wasting our capacity to be loving parents so that your lies about us being all sad and desperate can finally come true and because, you know, y'all are doing such a great job right now getting all the kids in foster care and adoption lists loving, stable, happy homes.
Yeah, that's the ticket! Sure, yeah, right, sure...
No, all we want is 1) equal access to the law, similar situation accommodated, as is required in the application thereof, 2) an end to the lies and defamation about us, and 3) to be left alone to live our (statistically otherwise happier than your lives) lives.
Really, that ought not be too much to ask.
And BTW, great video. The message was loving, caring and clearly expressed God's will. That we love each other and that everything built on love, is a gift.
Interesting you never hear heteros say one word about a Convicted "Caught in the act" Murderer in prison for life, being ALLOWED to marry, and even have Conjucal visits?? As a Christian who loves and studies the Bible, I always find it troubling when those fraudulently posing as Christians try to use the Bible as a cover for what is nothing more than their bigotry and hate toward those who are different from themselves. This is not at all what the Bible teaches us. And attempting to quote from health codes promulgated for nomadic tribes wandering in the desert over 2,000 years ago (such as those in Leviticus) is nothing short of ludicrous. It is so regrettable that these misguided individuals cause so many to turn away from the very religion these judgmental bullies profess to follow.
The issue before the American people concerns the civil law which belongs to all of us, regardless of our religious beliefs or affiliations. It is not the privilege of any religious group to hijack this civil law in an attempt to impose its dogma on those who believe differently. Should Roman Catholics seek to ban divorce? Orthodox Jews ban cheeseburgers? Jehovah's Witnesses blood transfusions? Mormons coffee? Seventh-Day Adventists Saturday mail delivery? Christian Scientists Medicare? Each of these groups has sincere beliefs about these matters, but they don't have the right to force their beliefs on everyone else.
The fact is that God did make Adam and Eve and Steve and billions more of us. A small percentage of our fellow Americans (3%, 5%, 7% ... pick whatever guess you like) are permanently oriented to be attracted to individuals of the same sex. It's a fact of life and part of God's creation. There is no reason at all why these Americans should not be able to exercise the same rights as their fellow citizens in property ownership, taxation, inheritance, medical care, family protections, and all the other rights and privileges granted by civil marriage. If any religious organization chooses to deny their faith's marriage ceremony or recognition to same-sex couples, that is their right and should be fully respected. But their authority is over church law, not our shared civil law.
On second thought, maybe we should just follow the advice of these zealots and adopt the Bible as our civil law and repeal all existing statutes. Slavery and polygamy would be back ... I've really missed those two. We could follow the example of Solomon and have 500 concubines, so much better than the 72 virgins promised to Islamic martyrs. And, best of all, we could stone to death all children who talk back to their parents. That should teach the little brats who's in charge!
Sound ridiculous? Sure, just like those who misuse religion to limit the rights of others. Bottom line: practice your religion in your own life and let others live in accordance with their beliefs.
